With funding support from Natural Resources Canada, the Alliance of Canadian Building Officials’ Associations (ACBOA) is developing a Canadian Energy Code Advisory Service and seeking Subject Matter Experts to help administer the service and assist building officials in preparing for the adoption and administration of Energy Efficiency as outlined in the National Building Code and National Energy Code for Buildings.
ACBOA is seeking individuals to work remotely as part of a team on a volunteer, occasional / as-needed basis, who possess the following:
Several years of experience with Energy Codes or Energy modelling systems.
- Expertise in one or more focus areas
- Building Science – Air, water, vapour management and control layers
- Energy Modeling
- Innovative Technology
- Mechanical Systems
- Building Envelope
- Lighting, Controls, Electrical Power
- Code Implementation: Compliance Pathways, Scope & Application
Strong technical knowledge: read, understand, apply, explain, simplify, and reference the NBC and NECB, to analyze inquiries and provide technical guidance on issues relating to energy code and energy efficiency.
- Education and/or certification: engineering, architecture, building science, Building Code
- Experience on technical committees and teams
- Advanced critical thinking & decision-making skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
